The Board of Studies is a Stage Government education board in New South Wales. It provides educational leadership by developing the curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 12 and awarding the Secondary school credentials School Certificate (Year 10) and Higher School Certificate (Year 12).

Parentline is a confidential telephone service providing professional counselling and support for parents and carers of children in Queensland and the Northern Territory.
The service commenced in Queensland in April 1996 and extended to the Northern Territory in May 2004.
Counsellors respond on average to 210 calls each week concerning a range of issues including:
Parents, carers and family members have direct access to qualified counsellors and can choose to speak with either a male or female counsellor. They are also able to arrange to call back and speak with the same counsellor to work through their issues.
Parentline is a BoysTown service and receives funding support from the Queensland and Northern Territory Governments.

In 2008, the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) commenced in Australian schools. The program continues in 2009 with all students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 being assessed using national tests in Reading, Writing, Language Conventions (Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation) and Numeracy.
The data from the NAPLAN test results gives schools and systems the ability to compare their students' achievements against national standards and with student achievement in other states and territories. It also allows the monitoring of progress over time.
Curriculum Corporation is project managing the NAPLAN 2009 test program on behalf of the MCEECDYA Senior Officials Committee.
Educational Assessment Australia (EAA) is an education group of UNSW Global Pty Limited, a not-for-profit provider of education, training and consulting services and a wholly owned enterprise of the University of New South Wales (UNSW). EAA specialises in large-scale measurement and assessment programs including the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS). ICAS are conducted annually in Australia and over 20 countries globally. Registration to sit 2010 ICAS is available through participating schools.
